No God

You believe you can see the future; perhaps your future moved with time.

But, you forgot to mention your change of direction,

To the one who you shared your life with; to the one who you included in your dreams.

Once I asked you, “Do you believe in God?”

You smiled at me.

Not that I really cared; just wanted to see if you would tell me your truth in view.

I never believed in a god.

But, I believed in us.

I came for you like a higher power; you told me I was perfect.

You say you can see the future?

Well Honey, so can I.

But like a bird, I took to higher ground; looking far below me for my truth in view.

Because in my future,

My hopeful future,

I  included you.

  1. but there is NO GOD. like she said.

  2. seems to come from a raw place in you. i have always turned to God when I am in pain. I think we should embrace a higher power instead of blame or curse it when things do not go our way. what DO you believe in if you do not have something greater than yourself to turn to? I like your poetry and I wish you well.

  3. nice job. Not just on this but on most of your blogs I like. Cannot wait to read more.

  4. great! When will you post again? Waiting patiently….

  5. I read your poems alot. I wish you would write more becuase I think you really are in touch with emotions and relationships. So many people are afraid to write what they really feel!

  6. I really enjoy your writing

  7. People never realize how they hurt others. I broke up with my boyfriend of 3 years a couple of months ago after finding out he was flirting with other women at all the clubs in town. It really hurt me. He said it was nothing, but even “innocent” flirting can make you question things. Like you, I believed he would be in my future, BE my future, but I guess there are no guarentees in life. Or love.
    Best Wishes Beautiful Woman…
